MISSING ME?

I’ve been missing you!

Sorry for the lack of updates over the past few days, but the truth is that I’m on holiday this week in n0t-so-sunny Scotland.

The exciting thing is that I whizzed past real-life Chester on the motorway on Monday! But I won’t be able to bring you regular updates again until next Monday, I’m afraid.

Will you still love me after a week of silence? Will you have me back when I return?

Have a little patience, fans. Mega updates coming next week.

DON’T BE SHY!

My magic ball tells me that i heart hollyoaks has attracted a few new fans over the past week. But what’s this? No comments, yet?

Speak up, Hollyoaks fans. We’re listening!

BUN IN THE OVEN

So Mercedes is carrying Tony’s sprog. Well surprise, surprise! Tony’s sperm seems to be this month’s must-have accessory. Never mind, though. As Mercedes herself says, there’s 2 litres of cider waiting for her at home. Classy! (Even Britney can’t top that one).

You can see what Brian Big Brother sees in her, can’t you? Speaking of which, if you’re wondering what ever became of that guest appearance of his that I mentioned, it’s already happened. Missed it? You must have blinked, like me. Apparently he was lurking in the background of Il Gnosh while Sarah and Nancy were waiting for reunion meeting with Hannah. Not quite the star turn we were expecting…

Meanwhile, Rhys is fast overtaking the reformed Justin Burton as the male character with the shortest fuse. (He’s still not as mental as Jake, though. Jake is proper mental).

THE WINEHOUSE ON HOLLYOAKS?

Set your faces to stunned, Hollyoaks devotees.

According to various news outlets, none other than Amy Winehouse was once offered an audition for a role on Hollyoaks. And she’s not the only ‘credible’ pop warbler of the moment to have come close to landing a part. Apparently Kate Nash was keen to join our favourite cast, too.

Just imagine! We could have had the REAL Amy rocking her beehive in the Baby Diegos, instead of the Barnes girl. Not sure I could hear her belting out AmyJosh4Ever, though…

Madness.

DUMP HIM NANCY, DUMP HIM!

Ok, so every now and again Jake does something MENTAL, and we all remember ‘oh yeah, Jake’s mental’, and then somehow he manages to dupe some woman into taking pity on him, and we all feel sorry for him, and then he does something mental AGAIN, and we’re all like ‘oh YEAH, he’s MENTAL, REMEMBER?”

Learn from Becca, Nancy. She made the mistake of hitching herself to his wagon, and look how she ended up, huh? DEAD!

Ok, ok. It’s not really Jake’s fault Becca died. But he’s a grade A loser, nonetheless.

Oh yeah, and he’s MENTAL.

A DIFFERENT DIRECTION

No, Hollyoaks, no! You’re not allowed to turn any more straight characters gay for at least a month! Lol. Of course, we don’t seriously believe Jake and Malachi are going to be swapping teams any time soon. Still, it is all the rage this season. But to be fair, Kris does appear to be moving in the opposite direction.

True to their word, the producers are keeping Hannah’s eating disorder storyline going. But you’ll be relieved to hear that Hannah will soon have happier things on her mind. Yes, if you noticed Danny Valentine smiling in her general direction, you saw correctly. (Granted, he smiles at pretty much every girl who crosses his path, but there’s more to it this time). Maybe once she’s starting to feel a bit better, poor old Beth will finally be welcomed into the family, instead of treated like an alien invader.

Finally, some uplifting storylines are coming our way! We love the melodrama, but we’ve been starved of a bit of comedy and light relief for the past few months.

CHILDREN IN NEED REVIEW

First of all, I was woefully misinformed about which of the cast would be performing. In the end it was Jake (Kevin Sacre), Sarah (Loui Batley), Summer (played by…er, Summer) and Kris (Gerard McCarthy).

Missed it? See it here:

Colour me impressed, they were pretty good! I think we’re going to be hearing a lot more music from Hollyoaks in the future.

HURRAY FOR HANNAH!

Hurray for Hannah! She’s on the mend. And according to the producers, it’s going to be a true-to-life slow and gradual recovery. But what effect will her new half-sister’s arrival have on her, we wonder?

Meanwhile, Ste plumbed new depths of stupidity by continuing to work right under Warren’s nose after committing his criminal deeds. And SURPRISE, SURPRISE - Warren figured out who was responsible. No shit Sherlock!

Anyway, must log off now. The Hollyoaks gang are about to do their Marc Bolan number!

BIG BROTHER BRIAN

Stretch your minds back to the last UK Big Brother. Remember? The one with the twins, Ziggy and Chanelle, and the adorably boy-like Brian?

You may also remember that Brian was a fellow Hollyoaks fan, with a particular penchant for Mercedes McQueen and her ladette ways. Well, this week Brian will be living the dream. Keep your eyes peeled, because he’ll be making a special guest appearance next week.

According to Brian, the day’s highlight was getting the chance to get on Mercedes’ bed. Hmm. That’s not exactly an ‘exclusive’ club you’re joining there, Brian…

Can’t wait to see it. It’s always great to watch a genuine fan up there in the spotlight.

ALL FOR A GOOD CAUSE - Tonight at 7pm on BBC 1

Has all that singing we’ve been hearing on the show whet your appetite?

Well, you’re in luck Hollyoaks fans. Carly Stenson (Stephanie de la Dean), Gemma Merna (Carmel) Chris Fountain (Justin) and Andrew Moss (Rhys) will all be flexing their vocal chords during this year’s Children in Need Appeal, starting at 7pm on BBC 1.

But what will they be singing? It’s going to be a tribute to Marc Bolan. They’re part of a stellar line-up including Kylie, Annie Lennox - and the SPICE GIRLS (making their first appearance as a reformed five-piece via a video link from L.A.).

Sounds like must-see telly to me. Naturally, my eyes will be glued to the telly. It’s for a good cause, innit?
